All class 12th appearing and appeared students below the age of nineteen and a half can take the NDA exam. However maths is not compulsory for Army branch. The students have to take a written exam. Successful candidates are invited for SSB and medical.
Eligibility Criteria and Qualification
Age - 16 ½ to 19½ yrs as on first day of the month in which course is due to commence. Qualification - 12th APPEARING, APPEARED, PASSED of 10+2 System of Education or Equivalent for Army and with Physics and Maths for AF/Navy. Aggregate 70 and above to apply.
CDS exams are conducted twice a year. The candidates can apply for Indian Army/ Navy/ Airforce. The candidate must be unmarried below the age of 24. In the case of IMA age is 23. Candidates can also apply for OTA. There is a written test which is followed by an SSB. NO PERCENTAGE BAR - The written Examination consists for 3 papers each of 120 min. duration. The Maths paper contains 100 objective questions and carries 100 marks, the G.K. paper contains 120 objective questions and carries 100 marks, while the English paper contains 120 objective questions and carries 100 marks.
Eligibility Criteria and Qualification
ARMY – Age - 20 to 24 years (at the time of commencement of course) Qualification - Graduation from Recognized University. AIR FORCE – Age - 20 to 24 years (at the time of commencement of course) Qualification - Degree of a recognized University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering. NAVY – Age - 20 to 24 years (at the time of commencement of course) Qualification - Degree in Engineering from a recognized University / Institution.
Age - 20 to 25 years (at the time of commencement of course). Qualification - Graduation (appearing / appeared / passed), in any stream. NO MATHS PAPER FOR OTA CANDIDATES. (NO PERCENTAGE BAR)
OTHER ENTRIES under OTA
1. NCC (SPL) ENTRY MEN/WOMEN Qualification - Graduate with 50% Aggregate marks, Two Years service in NCC Senior Div Army with minimum 'B' Grade in 'C' Certificate Exam.
2. TERRITORIAL ARMY (TA) Age - 18 to 42 years Qualification - Graduate from a recognized university. Marital Status - Unmarried / Married.
The Airforce Common Admission Test is conducted for recruitment in the flying branch of the Indian Airforce. This is a Permanent Commission. The candidate can apply after graduation in Physics and Maths or B Tech with min 60% marks at graduate level and class 12th level.
Eligibility Criteria and Qualification
Flying branch - Age - 20 to 24 years (at the time of commencement of course) Qualification - Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university with minimum 60% marks or equivalent and minimum of 60 % marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level. Ground duties - Age - 20 to 26 years (at the time of commencement of course) Qualification - Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University with minimum 60 % marks
TECHNICAL ENTRY
Age – 20 to 24 years (at the time of commencement of course) Qualification - “After completion of Engineering degree or while in your final year/ semester of Engineering” For both Men and Women. Permanent Commission (for men)/ Short Service Commission (For men and women) “Marks – Must have scored a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in any one of the listed disciplines. “Final year students are eligible to apply provided they do not have any present backlog at the time of SSB testing and they produce provisional/ original degree issued by the University as per the date stipulated in the advertisement.

SSR – Age - 17 - 21 years on the day of enrolment. Qualification - 10+2 examination with Maths & Physics and at least one of these subjects; Chemistry/ Biology/Computer science from an educational board recognized by Central/ State Government.
X- GROUP – Age - 17-21 years, Qualification - Passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English with minimum 50 % marks in aggregate and 50 % marks in English.
Y- GROUP – Age - 17-21 years, Qualification - Passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects approved by Central/State Education Boards with minimum 50 % marks in aggregate and 50 % marks in English.
ARTIFICER APPRENTICE –Age - 17-20 years on the day of enrolment. Qualification - 10+2 examination with 60 % or more marks in aggregate with Maths & Physics and at least one of these subjects; Chemistry/Biology/Computer science from an educational board recognized by Central/State Government.
